Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
PeriLog is an Android app developed in Northern Ireland. This policy explains how the application handles information when you use it from Google Play.
2. What data the app handles
Depending on how you use the app, it may process:
- Cycle and symptom data — periods, flow intensity, symptoms (hot flushes, headaches, fatigue, etc.), mood, sleep quality, energy levels, intimacy, cervical fluid, medications, weight, water, activity, goals, and custom symptom notes.
- Photo journal entries — photos you choose to attach to daily logs, stored in private app storage.
- App preferences — theme, notification settings, onboarding state, and feature toggles stored locally.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms Premium ownership so the app can remove ads and unlock features.
- Advertising identifiers (free tier) — used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads.
- Account email — only if you opt into cloud backup, you sign in with an email address and password (handled by Supabase).
- Support messages — if you email us, we process the content of your message to reply.
3. Data that stays on your device
All health data you enter in PeriLog (symptoms, cycles, moods, photos, notes, preferences) is stored exclusively in private app storage on your device by default. We do not operate cloud servers that receive your health data automatically. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes all local data for that install.
4. Optional encrypted cloud backup
Core use is fully offline and requires no account. If you choose Settings → Cloud backup & sync → Sign in, the following applies:
- You create an account with an email address and password (provided by Supabase, our authentication and hosting provider).
- Your health data is encrypted on your device (AES-256-GCM) with a key derived from your password before it is uploaded. The server stores only ciphertext and cannot read it.
- Signing in on another device restores the same encrypted data.
- Because of end-to-end encryption, a forgotten password cannot be recovered — even a password reset cannot decrypt the backup.
- Backups are stored by Supabase (our data processor) in the UK/EU, protected by per-account access controls.
- From Settings you can back up now, disable automatic backup, restore from the cloud, or sign out at any time. Signing out removes the locally stored encryption key.
5. Purchases and Google Play
Optional Premium is a monthly subscription (premium_monthly, £1.99/month) or a one-time lifetime purchase (premium_lifetime), both sold through Google Play Billing. Payment details are processed by Google, not by us. We only receive an entitlement status to unlock Premium features. Manage or cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
6. Advertising
The free version contains ads served via Google AdMob. These include:
- Banner ads — displayed at the bottom of the home screen and log screens.
- Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown occasionally when navigating between sections.
Ad networks may process your advertising ID and standard ad-request data under their policies. Premium subscription removes all ads. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings at any time. Learn more at Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Children
PeriLog is designed for adults tracking perimenopause and menstrual health. It is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data via support email, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
You can clear app data or uninstall at any time — this removes all locally stored health data. Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR / UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold (for example support emails or a cloud backup account). Contact us at support@cloudyni.com.
9. Data deletion
See our dedicated page: Request data deletion. In short:
- Local data — removed immediately by clearing app storage or uninstalling (no email needed).
- Cloud backup account — email us and we will delete your account and its encrypted backup row within 30 days of a clear request, and send one short confirmation reply.
10. Security
Health data stays in private app storage protected by the Android operating system. Cloud backup data is end-to-end encrypted before upload. Network traffic for ads, Play purchases, and cloud backup uses HTTPS. No method of storage is perfect — protect your device with a lock screen and be mindful of who has physical access to your phone.
11. Retention
Local data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall. Cloud backup rows remain until you delete your account (via the request above). Support emails are retained only as long as needed to handle your request. Ad partners retain data per their own policies.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
